Roger TOFIELD
Midland Area Lightweight Champion
Roger Tofield was the Midland Area Lightweight Champion during the 1970s and into the 1980s, winning the title in 1972 at Wilton Hall, Bletchley, from Co Mayo's Peter Kelly. He wrestled mainly in the south and in the midlands for South Midland Wrestling Promotions, and also for Brian Dixon, Birmingham-based promoter Gordon Corbett, Jackie Pallo Enterprises, and other small promotions over the years. Unfortunately, Roger never made any television appearances, possibly because he never worked for Dale Martin, but he was in great demand in halls and leisure centres up and down the country at a time when wrestling was extremely popular. Roger Tofield retired from professional wrestling in 1986.
