The following 'stills' are from a welterweight match between Alan Wood and the European champion Vic Faulkner,
rebroadcast in February 2007 on the TWC Fight! television Channel. Thanks to them for their coverage of Classic British Wrestling.
The match was a best of three falls contest, over six, five-minute rounds. (Wood in the tartan trunks, Faulkner in light blue)
After chances to both wrestlers, Wood eventually takes the lead with a single leg boston submission in the third round, and acknowledges the spectators' applause.
The fourth round starts with Wood "moving in for the kill" on Faulkner's weakened left leg.
But it's Faulkner who takes the next fall, with a neatly-executed folding pin.
And in an exciting final round, Faulkner's experience tells, and he grabs a winning pinfall. Wood again acknowledges the applause after a fine contest.
Wood is unhappy about something, and after protesting to the MC and the referee Ernie Baldwin, there are skirmishes after the final bell.
Thanks to Tony Maitland for the loan of his magazines, and to the TWC Fight! satellite TV channel.
