Vic Coleman - Action photographs

Vic took part in lots of bouts and was rated by the USA's Ring magazine as the world's fifth best welterweight. He carried on wrestling until the outbreak of the Second World War, when he joined the Royal Air Force. His career resumed, and blossomed again, after the war.

In March 1951, Vic emerged victorious from a star-studded, hard-fought tournament

to be crowned Middleweight Champion of the British Empire.
